00729: Project Engineer - Stormwater (Washington, DC)
Office Location:DC - Washington (Field Office)

The successful Project Engineer (Stormwater) will support project teams and the firm’s key regional clients in the design of complex and innovative stormwater and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects including Green Infrastructure (GI). Projects will also include engineering report writing, hydrology and hydraulic analysis, urban drainage design, civil design, and erosion and sediment control review and design. The Project Engineer will be part of the Greeley and Hansen team supporting the DC Clean Rivers Project field office at DC Water (Blue Plains).

As part of subsequent training, professional development and career progression, this role will have opportunities for increasing responsibility including project management and contribution to the firm’s business development efforts.

• Manage stormwater planning and design projects.
• Collaboration with project team members in the development of client deliverables.
• Develop innovative solutions to water resources design challenges.
• Communicate and interact effectively with clients.
• Experience working on and supporting water resources projects.
• Design development including the preparation of plans and technical specifications.
• Participate in business development with potential clients.

• Education: B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Experience: 5-10 years of experience in stormwater management analysis and design; experience with stormwater quantity and quality improvements, including green and gray infrastructure.
• Certifications, Licenses: Professional Engineer licensure is required.

• Experience in the preparation of contract documents for water resources projects.
• Experience in the study and design of stormwater management (including BMPs, green infrastructure, and/or combined sewers), and implementation of MS4 permits.
• Experience working with hydraulic models, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, CAD and GIS softwares.
• Experience working on a team with other engineers.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.

Travel Demands: Mostly local to the DC metro area.
