We seek a Construction Manager to manage a construction project in the Ft. Myers, FL Area. Candidates for this position should have the education, experience, licenses/certifications listed and be able to meet the roles and responsibilities detailed below: 

Education and Experience 

Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering required 
Experience: Minimum 20-25 years experience in the field 

Licenses and Certifications

Professional Engineer required 
OSHA 10 required
Construction Safety Awareness Training preferred 
Certified Construction Manager preferred 
Formal Risk Management Training preferred 

Roles and Responsibilities

Professional/Technical:
  • Reviews construction engineer's risk registers and provides input to the program risk management practices.
  • Exercises independent judgment and evaluation.
  • Provides competent technical skills to the organization in regards to construction by the way of performing constructability reviews, organizing/monitoring construction schedules, organizing cost estimates, and organizing monthly construction progress reports.
  • Takes the lead in developing technical solutions to constructability or unforeseen construction issues.
  • Negotiates with contractors regarding progress payments, RFI, and change orders.

Communication: 

  • Develops progressively more complex written reports.
  • Communicates with company staff on task and projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills for complex reports and presentations.
  • Understands sense of urgency and meets deadlines
  • Persuasive communication with staff, contractors, and clients.
  • Gives clear direction and delegates effectively.

Leadership:

  • Provide oversight of office services, field services and change management team Manages, mentors and maintains morale for safety, quality, environmental, and change management oversight staff.
  • Leads meetings and resolves conflict with a calm demeanor and fact based approached.
  • Implementation, training and oversight of construction engineers and inspectors.
  • Performance Champion for up to 5 direct and 15 indirect reports.
