00722: Construction Inspector/Field Engineer (Washington, DC)
Office Location:DC - Washington (Field Office)

We seek a Construction Inspector/ Field Engineer (mid-level) to manage inspection services during construction and document and verify compliance with environmental, sediment and erosion control requirements. The Senior Construction Inspector will be part of the Greeley and Hansen team supporting the DC Clean Rivers field office at DC Water.  

As part of subsequent training, professional development and career progression, this role will have opportunities for increasing responsibility in project management and training new hires in regulation and compliance verification procedures and assisting with business development.

Manage the day to day construction site compliance activities 
Present technical solutions and implement necessary changes in stormwater pollution prevention plans as site conditions evolve.
Attend periodic progress meetings and owner executive meetings.
Peer review daily compliance reports summarizing conditions of installed controls.
Communicate with Greeley and Hansen team members and Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) personnel on ongoing construction related issues.
Review Contractor proposed modifications with team members.
Help resolve construction related conflicts.
Review contractor work to ensure compliance with the contract documents and regulations.
Oversight of groundwater sampling events using low flow sampling.
Prepare ground water sampling reports.
Review and comment on environmental related submitals.

Education: Bachelors of Science in Civil required.
Experience: Minimum 5-10 years’ construction experience with erosion and Sediment Control and environmental compliance required.
Stormwater compliance training or certification required.
OSHA 10 hr Construction Safety Awareness Training required. 
Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing/ monitoring Erosion and Sediment control procedures.
PE is highly preferred but not required.
Demonstrated experience in ground water sampling at a CERCLA, RCRA, or State Superfund Site preferred.

Travel Demands: Local travel using a personal owned vehicle to and from the job site(s) and the Construction Field Office during regular working hours.
