00723: Construction Inspector (New York City)
Office Location:NY - New York

We seek a Construction Inspector to work on a NTC Department of Design and Construction water main project in Manhattan. Candidates for this position should have the education, experience, licenses/certifications listed and be able to meet the roles and responsibilities detailed below.  This position will report to the CE&M Manager.


  • Inspection of water main and trunk main installation, utility relocation and roadway restoration.    
  • Conduct concrete testing in accordance with ACI procedures.
  • Review the work site for safety and conformance with approved traffic control plans. 
  • Prepare daily field reports summarizing progress of construction and measuring payment quantities.
  • Prepare test reports, including accident reports, etc.
  • Interpret the plans and specifications.  
  • Help resolve construction related conflicts by developing technical solutions.
  • Review work, ensuring that it is being performed in compliance with the contract documents.
  • Perform walkthrough inspections and prepare punch list for any remaining work.
  • Perform other required duties as assigned.  



Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental with an EIT with less than 5 years or a PE license with 5-10 years of experience.  DDC water main experience highly preferred.

Certification:   Qualified ASCE Grade III, or NICET Grade II required.

  • ACI Concrete Field Technician required (or ability to take and pass the exam)
  • OSHA 10 hr Construction Safety Awareness Training preferred
  • DDC water main training preferred
