00992: Operations and Maintenance Manager, Water and Wastewater
Office Location:VA - Alexandria

We seek a Operations and Maintenance Manager (O&M), Client Advisor: Water and Wastewater who will support our clients in Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia. The manager will advise clients on various O&M issues and challenges related to pump stations, treatment plants and/or collection and distributions systems to achieve their goals of enhancing the reliability of their existing infrastructure. The O&M Manager will assist the clients with complex and innovative water, wastewater, and/or collection system projects. He/she will work in a team environment as part of the Greeley and Hansen teams based at the Silver Spring MD, Alexandria VA or Washington DC Offices.  The O&M Manager will participate in engineering projects and develop reports for sewer infrastructure renewal and optimization.


  • Coordination with both the internal project team and the client as needed to respond to project needs
  • Troubleshooting and startup assistance of water, wastewater pump stations, treatment plants and/or related facilities
  • Field investigations and construction inspection
  • Condition assessment of asset in pump stations, treatment plants and/or buried utility infrastructure
  • Communicate with Contractor, Utility, Design Team, and Public regarding project status and address any concerns.
  • Review conditions in the field, anticipate issues, and coordinate with Owner and Contractor when conflicts occur.
  • Preparation of field reports and other project correspondence
  • Mentorship of junior project staff


Education: Associates degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the management and/or operations of municipal water and/or wastewater utility infrastructure. Municipal experience highly preferred.

Certifications, Licenses: Relevant construction, operations, and maintenance certifications (i.e., NICET, PACP, ITCP, confined space) are desirable.


  • Extensive experience in the operations and maintenance of pump stations, treatment plants and/or other water and/or wastewater process facilities.
  • Experience operating fully-automated equipment and the use of SCADA controls
  • Familiarity with asset management concepts, including asset inventory, condition assessment, risk-based project prioritization, and capital improvement planning.
  • Experience using CMMS and GIS databases such as CityWorks or Maximo
  • Experience managing and mentoring other operators or technicians.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
